Meet Our Founder
Melissa Jeroboan is a dedicated child and family advocate, visionary leader, and the heart behind Covenant Crowned, a faith-rooted nonprofit organization committed to restoring dignity, stability, and healing for families facing crisis.
At the center of Melissa’s life’s work is a deep, unshakable burden for children without homes, such as children who have been displaced by violence, abandoned by broken systems, or caught in cycles of poverty and instability. Her mission is to stand in the gap for them, not only providing shelter but also the love, consistency, and tools they need to flourish. For Melissa, it is not enough to give a child a roof; she is committed to creating a place where they feel safe, seen, and crowned in purpose.
With over a decade of frontline experience, Melissa has worked as a CPS Investigator, Case Manager, Juvenile Court Clerk, and Social Worker Assistant. She has spent her career in the trenches of child welfare, witnessing firsthand the trauma children endure when families fall apart and resources are out of reach. These experiences shaped her resolve to become not just a responder to crisis but a builder of refuge.
Born and raised in New York, Melissa also spent two years living in Belize, where she served as a Victim Advocate for domestic violence survivors and their children. There, she helped establish safe housing and educational support systems, gaining a global perspective on trauma, resilience, and the critical need for early intervention. That work left a lasting imprint on her heart and refined the vision that would become Covenant Crowned.
Melissa founded Covenant Crowned to fill the gap she saw in traditional systems by creating programs that are trauma-informed, spiritually grounded, and culturally aware. Under her leadership, the organization provides safe housing, life skills training, educational and counseling services, and transitional care for families in crisis. Her work is especially focused on preventing family separation and, when it cannot be avoided, ensuring that children are placed in nurturing, stable, and faith-centered environments.
Today, Melissa is leading Covenant Crowned into its next chapter, which includes expanding programs to include foster care, youth development, and restorative family services. With early grant wins and growing community partnerships, the vision remains clear: no child left without shelter, no family without support, and no crown left buried beneath trauma.
Melissa’s life and leadership are fueled by the promise that healing is possible, and that every child deserves to rise—rooted in love and crowned in covenant. She believes that consistent, compassionate presence can transform lives.
In her own words:
“I believe in showing up for people not just once or when it’s easy, but consistently and with compassion. Every child matters. Every home matters. Sometimes, it just takes one person willing to stand in the gap.”
